Went to UCSB to hang with my friend John Mills today, we've practically known each other forever I believe since the fourth grade, and I really enjoy being able to go up there and see him. Also cruzing around UCSB and checking out what those kids are up to is fun too.
This is the story I have been working on over the last two months. I'm pretty sure that I am going to stop with it because I don't really feel like it is going anywhere and would like to start working on something else. But I would appreciate some criticism, let me know what you think.
This is a video I've been working on getting up for awhile, I shot all the stuff in about two hours like three weeks ago and have just been working with it in final cut, its the first multimedia project that I have really finished let me know what you think any advice would be helpful.
Shot a baseball game yesterday for a sports features assignment, it was high school baseball and the most amusing part about the whole thing was how way more riled up about the whole thing they were than the kids. It was really summerish feeling and then the light got really nice.
I took these while just walking around the Ventura downtown area and then on Ventura Avenue. I was shooting with the "My America" assignment in mind and I feel like a few of these images really show how I fee about Ventura in general right now. Thanks for visiting let me know what you think.
We had an awesome "quiz" in class today, Paul was like "ugh go find a picture and come back in an hour in a half" it was pressure but it was a lot of fun. I just drove around and found these guys repaving the roads in some neighborhoods off of Main St. it was a pretty cool situation really, steaming asphalt that was 400 degrees bing spread out over several hundred yards of street. It was dirty hard work these guys were doing, and I would have liked to shoot for longer but class was waiting.
I'm 19, I go to Brooks Institute, I'm working towards a B.A. in Visual Journalism. I like to be outside, I love to travel and want to see as much of the world as possible. I grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Right now I am just trying to become more aware of my world and to expand on the way I see and photograph things. All images copyright, Jeff Ball 2008.
